Suburban Jungle Book Club Discussion: The Overstory

Reading friends, we have something special coming up next. To celebrate the fact that our book club has been meeting and discussing books for five years (!!!), we’re going to go back and reread one of our first books: The Overstory, by Richard Powers. The Overstory is a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about trees and the people who defend them, the interconnectedness of all life, the role of art and storytelling in nature conservation, the phenomenon of group thought, and innovations, both technological and natural, that bring worlds into existence.

One note: The book is long, ~500 pages, so consider giving yourself the whole 7 weeks to read!

Hope you’ll join us for a discussion on Thursday, May 14, whether you’re picking up for the book for the first time or rereading it.

Copies of the book are already available in-store at House Finch in Collingswood, or you can order online through House Finch’s online bookshop site: https://bookshop.org/lists/suburban-jungle-book-club
